From the Latin word for “patchwork,” the cento (or collage poem) is a poetic form composed entirely of lines from poems by other poets.
Through her 2023 Red Room Poetry Fellowship project, Jugarnu Wangga Migamanmanha (Older woman making talk), Charmaine Papertalk Green is extending her poetry practice by examining, engaging and decolonising two forms of poetry - cento and cinquain. This involves analysing, slicing up and weaving or stitching back together 37 years of poems to create a new series of poetry. Join her for a workshop exploring the radical possibilities of the Cento form.
Presented in partnership with Bundanon Trust.
