StAnza is a dynamic, welcoming poetry festival held in the historic town of St Andrews (UK) every March.

This year, we're partnering with StAnza to present two iconic contemporary Australian poets as part of their online program. Tune in to celebrate the work of Andy Jackson and Sara Saleh, beaming in from the unceded traditional lands of the Kulin and Bidjigal nations. Jackson’s award-winning poetry, informed by his work as a disability scholar and advocate, explores the potential futures built by our solidarities, often in active collaboration with fellow artists. A poet, novelist, political organiser and human rights lawyer, Saleh’s work is internationally renowned for its imaginative empathy, global horizons, and deep curiosity about history and art’s place within it.

Andy Jackson is a poet and creative writing teacher at the University of Melbourne, and his most recent collection, Human Looking (Giramondo), won multiple prizes in Australia. Sara Saleh is a writer, human rights lawyer, organiser and the daughter of migrants from Palestine, Egypt and Lebanon. Her debut collection, The Flirtation of Girls, was published by UQP in 2023.
