Please note: this workshop is for poets under 25.

As part of our Youth Ambassadors program, this workshop is designed especially for poets and lyricists under 25 who are looking to deepen their practice and sustain their creative spark over the long haul.

Led by ARIA Award-winning rapper, drummer, and producer DOBBY, this session offers space to explore what it means to speak your truth through your art - even when it’s uncomfortable, challenging, or met with resistance. Drawing on his own journey and trajectory, DOBBY will share insights into navigating the music industry, dealing with censorship, and staying grounded in purpose.

Together, we’ll unpack strategies for truth-telling through poetry and song, explore how to handle pushback with strength and integrity, and get some words flowing with short creative exercises.

Whether you’re just starting out or already performing your work, this workshop will offer real talk, practical tools, and creative inspiration to help you stay bold, honest, and connected to what matters most in your writing.
