Rhyan Clapham is a composer, rapper and drummer under the pseudonym DOBBY. Aged 28, he proudly identifies as a Filipino and Aboriginal musician, whose family is from Murrawarri and Ngemba lands (Weilmoringle, Brewarrina NSW). Rhyan has completed a BMus at UNSW, and an Indigenous Studies Honours (focusing on Aboriginal Hip Hop music) in 2015.

Rhyan is the 2017 recipient for the bi-annual Peter Sculthorpe Fellowship, set to release WARRANGU; River Story , the outcome of this fellowship. He composed the soundscapes for PARRTJIMA (Alice Springs), and composed the music behind Australia’s first 500-strong drones show (Elevate Sydney).

As DOBBY, Rhyan has performed extensively locally including BIGSOUND and Sydney Opera House, and internationally (Germany, UK, USA, NL). DOBBY took out best video for 'I CAN'T BREATHE' in the 2020 FBi SMAC Awards. Recently, Rhyan performed a new self-produced work alongside rapper BARKAA for the New Year’s Eve Fireworks (https://youtu.be/6cW2gsPEIyU).
