POEM FOREST in the Media
We've loved seeing the shortlisted and winning poets of the 2024 POEM FOREST prize all over the media – from celebrating local shortlisted poems to seeing the Winners Announcement Ceremony on TV.
For the shortlist announcement, Year 6 student Jake read his poem 'Green Glaciers' on 2SER and chatted with host Danny Chifley about the forest. Local students Lachlan from Newcastle, Alex and Quinn from Alice Springs and Charlotte from Orange also read their poems on ABC Radio.
The Wollongong Local Community Greening Prize was in the spotlight this year, with WIN News covering the event on TV, featuring winner Alice O and highly commended poet Ada G and footage from our beautiful Local Winners Announcement, in which former POEM FOREST Judge Clarence Slockee and workshop poet Joseph Schwarzkopf announced the winners of the Wollongong Community Greening Local Prize and the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan Local Prize.The announcement was also covered in Mirage News.
