Thom Roberts identifies as a Studio A artist and a Countrylink Express train. He sees trains as people and people as trains. Thom Roberts is also fascinated by the photocopied image. His practice stems from a process of photocopying found photographs and this unique way of seeing.
 
Thom’s  portfolio encompasses a range of mediums and styles including drawing, installation, painting, performance and photography. Thom is a skilled draftsman, well able to quickly translate landscapes and portraits in a traditional and representational artistic style.
 
Thom was a collaborating artist on the birdfoxmonster project with Erth Visual and Physical inc, supported by Carriageworks. He has exhibited at Cementa Festival in Kandos, Underbelly Arts Festival and Hazelhurst Regional Gallery alongside collaborator Harriet Body.
 
Most recently Thom was selected to exhibit in The National 2019: New Australian Art at Carriageworks, Eveleigh and took up a residency in Cesena, Italy with the Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, an established and renowned experiential theatre company.
