My Sanity

Monday:
As the bell goes,
I walk to class.
As I walk in I hear “HI TYSON!”
followed by, “HI DAVID!”
and I know already
that it’s going to be a long day.
Tuesday:
Di is explaining the subject,
Mataan comes in late and in the first fifteen seconds trips on purpose, yells “SORRY I’M LATE!”
and pretends to be a cat.
I know already,
that it is going to be a long day.
Wednesday:
The first session is guided reading,
a tidal wave of groans fill the air,
halfway through the session Elias yells
“Booyakasha!”
Then recites some lines
from an inappropriate comedian he likes,
I know already,
that it is going to be a long day.
Thursday:
It is almost Friday,
some might think this is good!
It is not.
Already, even in the first session
people are yelling across the room about the high score
they just got at a game that is in fashion at the moment,
I know already,
that it is going to be a long day.
Friday:
It’s Friday,
Peter yells “Not funny”,
and everyone immediately yells back, "SHUT UP PETER",
but today I am not bothered,
because I know that tomorrow I will not have to go through it again.
As the bell goes signalling the end of school
all I can think is,
“Thank goodness I still have my sanity”.
