A Diamond Without Its Case

Some people call it horrible names
Things no Muslim woman would utter
Silly things, they’d call it
Even though it’s like no other
Some call it a rag
A sheet or a cloth
But my dear friends,
Is that all you’ve got?
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering
Why I’m not offended
So listen closely
Onto why I’m not wounded
Have you ever eaten chocolate
Without its wrapper?
Have you ever seen a diamond
Without its case?
So let me say it again
My dearest friends
‘I am a diamond
And my hijab is my case!’
