river
stirring maps of existence
un-topiary vital sanctuary:
everything, everyone, everywhere
colossal furtive networks
veins, pulsing capillaries
stories bountiful in multitudes
we are
atoms circular, returning, leaving
composing cycles:
provisions during catastrophe
elemental in exultation, delight
navigation, markers of place
weaving generational responsibilities
the river
meandering borders swaying
edges of the shoreline expanse
stars above for millennia, Bunjil
guiding eely moonless nights, life
flowing
bones of its underworld find gnarled
rivers, bays, tributaries
dream-currents
we are the
yellow-tailed black cockatoo, magpie
mouths, chirring, calling out in mist
the pobblebonk, growling grass frog
extended conversations inter-species
non-linear connections
perpetual systems of space and time:
we have only been lent
this waterway to tend to
we hear, we listen, we grow, we live
