Cecilia White is an interdisciplinary poet and artist, born in Sydney. Her most recent publication is her 2012 chapbook ‘N THING IS SET IN ST NE’ (Picaro), and works in ETZ Magazine, Famous Reporter, Newcastle PATP Anthologies and Five Bells. Also writing and translating in European languages, her German poetry ‘Gedanken der Zeit’ was published by Bookpress. Complementing her poetry, Cecilia’s multilingual, text-infused performances and installations architecture a physical, spiritual and psychological space that challenges the drive for certitude, definition, knowing. Her work explores other ways of becoming through dislocation, release and wonder. She is creator and director of ‘the breathing space projects’, widely performed in Australia and internationally, often collaboratively engaging improvised and traditional music, text, voice, body and a range of visual installations. These projects are part of her current PhD research at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney. Cecilia has exhibited, performed and studied in Australia, Europe, Asia and the UK. She has won a range of awards including the 2011 International Cricket Poetry Award.  Her website is www.ceciliawhite.com.
