Ella O’Keefe is a poet and researcher who lives in Melbourne on the unceded lands of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung language groups of the Eastern Kulin Nations. Her debut collection Slowlier was published by Cordite Books in January 2021. Other publications include Rhinestone (2015, Stale Objects dePress) and It’s what we’re already doing, in collaboration with Elena Gomez, Leah Muddle, Melody Paloma, Emily Stewart and Sian Vate (2018, Shower Books). Her work has been published in Australian and international journals and anthologies including: Overland, Cordite, Southerly, The Hunter Anthology of Contemporary Australian Feminist Poetry, Black Inc Best Australian poems series, Social Alternatives and Australian Poetry Journal. She was the joint winner of the 2018 Harold Tribe Poetry Award. She is the former audio producer of Cordite Poetry Journal and completed her PhD at Deakin University in 2019. Her thesis focused on the poetry of Barbara Guest, Veronica Forrest-Thomson and Redell Olsen.
