Izzy Roberts-Orr is a poet, playwright, broadcaster and arts worker based on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in regional Victoria. Formerly Artistic Director and Co-CEO of the Emerging and Digital Writers’ Festivals, and a Co-Director of the National Young Writers’ Festival, Izzy is Creative Producer at Red Room Poetry.

Her poetry has been published in various journals and anthologies including the Australian Poetry Anthology, Melbourne Poetry Map, Voiceworks, The Lifted Brow, Seizure, Cordite, Visible Ink, Scum, Going Down Swinging, Debris, The Contemporary Australian Feminist Poetry Anthology, the City of Literature’s Poet Laureates of Melbourne project and more.

Izzy has been a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow, a Melbourne Fringe Uncommon Places artist, a featured artist at Junction Arts Festival, and recipient of ATYP’s Fresh Ink playwriting bootcamp and mentorship. She has also featured at Emerging Writers’ Festival, National Young Writers’ Festival, Noted Festival, You Are Here, Forest Fringe, and with Young Arts Paris, judged competitions and in various capacities as an industry expert. She advocates for artists on the Collingwood Yards Board and Moreland Arts Advisory Committee and as a Co-Director of Broadwave podcasting network.

Izzy is a 2020-2021 recipient of the Australia Council Marten Bequest Scholarship for Poetry. A book of elegiac poetry, Raw Salt is forthcoming, and her work in progress is Medusa is a Modern Woman.
