Martin Harrison

The Red Room Company farewells Martin Harrison. A wonderful poet, and an extremely important figure for several generations of Australian poets. He will be sadly missed. 

Hunter Valley resident and Senior Lecturer UTS Martin Harrison was one of Australia’s most celebrated poets. Harrison wrote eight collections of poems, including his award-winning, Wild Bees. Along with his poetry, Harrison wrote an acclaimed series of essays about contemporary poetry, Who Wants to Create Australia? He was also a leading ABC radio producer and broadcaster associated equally with drama, poetry and criticism, and the promotion of innovative forms of sound-feature and sound-work.
