A glider hangs

Bobs above rock and shrub

South side

Breeze on blades

Of grass like the hairs on my arm

Shiver

The winds picked up this’arvo

I sit and stretch to see a whale

They’ve been past

Last couple of hours

Spotted near conno

So the community Facebook says

So I stretch out to where that pod

Of dolphins were

two days back

Those custodians that guide

But nah

just whitewash combing the top

Wind swept waters

Gammin me

We had our time

In sunrise swim

Water warm after cold sand

Stung my feet

We had our time then

In Kneeling hands cupped

‘I am’ and

‘Thank you’

I offered the land

on my skin to salt water

My homecoming

Now the wind Shakes loose

the remnants

That glider still bobs Scooping

current in sail

Feet skimming scrub

And my eye follows

The line of haze on horizon

Expectant
