Rania Omar

Rania Omar is an Australian Lebanese Muslim writer and artist from Western Sydney. Her writing often reflects on her lived experiences of mental ill health, domestic and family violence, disability, body image as well as culture and social commentary. Her aim is to create safe spaces through creative expression and tell the under-told stories. Rania has performed her poetry at many events across Western Sydney including Bankstown Poetry Slam, Riverside Theatre and PYT. Rania’s poetry has been published in various online journals as well as anthologies such as Ritual - the first ever Australian Muslim Poetry Anthology. She enjoys experimenting with story telling in different formats, she has published two audio stories with FBI radio's All the Best program.
