Rebecca Rushbrook is a mama, a photographer, an administrative assistant, an English tutor, a poetry editor and a published and performance poet living in the Northern Rivers town of Lismore, NSW. So yes, she is busy! She is a NSW finalist in the 2020 Australian Poetry Slam, a previous winner of the Nimbin Performance Poetry Cup and 3x winner of the Lismore Poetry Cup. Rebecca instigated and edited the Newcastle Fringe Festival anthology, poesis, and was part of the formative crew who designed the festival’s literature program. She has been published in the MTV Saul William's anthology, Chorus, and the Sydney Writer’s Festival anthology, Litlink, and her poem, ‘Mine,’ featured in the anti-CSG movie Rock the Gate, and became a protest poem text for High School study. Rebecca has featured at the Queensland Poetry Festival, the Sydney Writers Festival, the Newcastle Fringe Festival, Dogbite, and Poets Out Loud. She is currently working on her first collection of her own work...although she’s been saying that for at least 5 years!
