Silverwater Poets

Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre is located west of Sydney's CBD. The centre opened in 1970 and remains the major intake centre for female offenders in NSW.

Across July and August of 2016, a series of workshops facilitated by poets Johanna Featherstone and Dr Gareth Jenkins guided 12 women at the centre through creative and emotional expression to create and edit a series of poems, producing their own print anthology for the Unlocked program.
