nobody here knows my name
in a place where everyone looks the same.
I am just another face on the street,
I am just another anonymous soul you meet.
So many self-conscious individuals walk past me
With their fake plastic faces fearing reality.
I stare them hard in the eye.
Forcing them to be my alibi.
Cos im an outcast living in the outskirts of the city
Trying to make the superficial remember me.
Written in response to Keri Glastonbury's 'subtle plague'
Exercise: Write a poem about a suburban landscape.
