Not here to land

Rooves of ceramic tiles lay against blue sky
where lines of telegraph criss cross
….a landing strip for feathery seats
grasping wire there, they do
an affirmation that resilience counts
one two three pairs of minor birds
look on in conniving pose
travelling in convoy, strength in numbers
….like any bully
selectively I point demanding departure
all others may stay
my railing offered for refuge
seedlings perched upon table upon chairs
a balcony extended …. loungeroom onto sky
fly here
on my watch safety ensured
in periphery they wait for my eyes to be distracted
…then return
