Steven Herrick

Steven Herrick is the author of twenty-six books for children and young adults. His books have twice won the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and been shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year Awards on ten occasions. He is widely recognised as a pioneer of the verse-novel genre in young adult literature. In 2019, his verse-novel ‘by the river’ in translation won the prestigious German Youth Literature Award. Steven spends six months of the year visiting schools to talk poetry, three months writing a new book, and three months riding his bicycle.
