Poetry Month 2025-800x450_Listing_Calendar_Final

Submit your event to the Poetry Month Calendar

In recognition of the incredible range of poetic voices, communities, and curators across the continent, the Poetry Month Calendar warmly invites Australian arts organisations and community groups to share your August poetry events for possible inclusion.

Whether it’s a local open mic, a poetry picnic, or a First Nations storytelling event, we want to help celebrate and amplify the poetry already taking place in your community.

Selected events will be published in the Poetry Month Calendar, and included in our weekly newsletter during Poetry Month to help spread the word.

Micro-grants

Eight $500 micro-grants will be awarded to support community-produced poetry events that are already planned as part of Poetry Month in August. These grants are intended to support, not enable, events - so please only apply if your event will be going ahead regardless of the funding outcome.

Eligible events will be considered for publication and promotion through the Poetry Month Calendar, whether or not they receive a grant. Publication is at Red Room’s discretion. Organisers may submit up to three event listings.

Submit your event by 5pm AEST, Tuesday 17 June 2025 to be considered for a micro-grant.

Notes on submissions

  • All images submitted will be housed in the Poetry Month branding - which you are welcome to download and use for the promotion of your event! Images must be a minimum size of 800 x 450px in landscape orientation and must not include text.
  • The limit for event descriptions is 100 words - but you are welcome to provide a link to your event where audiences can find out more.
  • Your contact details will not be published on the website - this is just so we have your details in case we need to get in touch.
