Submit your event to the Poetry Month Calendar

In recognition of the incredible range of poetic voices, communities and curators across the continent, we are asking you to be part of the program! The Poetry Month Calendar warmly invites all Australian arts organisations and community groups to submit their August events for possible inclusion in the Calendar.

Micro-grants

Events submitted by 11:59pm AEST, Sunday 30 June will automatically be considered for one of our eight $500 micro-grants. Micro-grants will be paid to the producers ahead of the event to contribute towards artist fees, wages and production. Events submitted after this date will still be considered for inclusion in the calendar and promoted through our digital channels.

Note on images: Please note that all images submitted will be housed in the Poetry Month branding - which you are welcome to download and use for the promotion of your event! Images must be a minimum size of 800 x 450px in landscape orientation and must not include text.

Please also note that the limit for event descriptions is 100 words - but you are welcome to provide a link to your event where audiences can find out more.

Poetry Month returns throughout August 2024 to celebrate Australian poetry, poets and publishers.

Launched in 2021 by Red Room Poetry, Poetry Month aims to increase access, awareness and visibility of poetry in all its forms and for all audiences. This year, Poetry Month (1-31 August) features a blazing line-up of poetic celebrations, events and showcases in every state and territory as well as a host of ways to get involved. From daily poems and writing prompts to online workshops, prizes and residencies, there's a poem to fit everyone – from seasoned poetry lovers to the unversed.

The full program will be revealed in July. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to find out.
