In the first week of July our 2019 Red Room Poetry Fellow, Jeanine Leane, led students from Nowra High School, Vincentia High School, Bomaderry High School, Shoalhaven High School and Nowra High School Girls program through poetry workshops at Bundanon Trust as poet-in-residence.
These workshops were in collaboration with the YWCA Links to Learning program to encourage and support students in re-engaging with their education.
Students responded to various poetic exercises centred on connection to natural landscapes and bushland. Through the vehicle of poetry students considered the history and memory of trees, crafting these responses into poetic offerings with the guidance of Jeanine.
