by Acacia Stevenson

If you let roots grow inside you
flowers will grow in your mind,
but weeds will also grow around your throat
and bones.
Be prudent about pruning
so that overgrown vines don't tangle
and strangle you.
Leave the roots in tact, or else the parts inside you
will seperate and fall away from
each other
Lose your dreams
and you'll lose your mind
