A Book

When you pick the book up you open it and it takes you away,
Some of them you can’t put down until you’re done.
The best ones are when you put it down, you can’t stop thinking of it all day.
Until your teacher says, “what’s wrong mate you not concentrating again”.

A book is full of dots and lines that make words and sentences,
All of this is in one language called English - just one!
But still there is great adventure within the pages.
I get really excited when I get a new book.

Books can be new or old, but all books will send you to another world,
They can also be thick or thin.
One thing that I hate is when the pages are curled
But the best thing of all the things about books that they are like a portal to another world.

Every school has its own library..You can read anything you like in it.
Even though I think that everyone should read they don’t,
Because as soon as they read the first page they often quit.
Books are amazing! Can you tell - I’m a bookworm.
