A Piece of Macedonia

I hold it close to my heart, it all comes back.
I’ve taken it everywhere with me, Skopje, St Nahum Church, Lake Ohrid.
The charm as gold as the sun, proudly wearing the flag around my neck.
Not just a charm or flag but a safe; a safe full of memories that only I can unlock.
I hold it close, all the memories fly out dancing around me my heart sings
I still miss Macedonia but I have a small piece of it around my neck, it’s the Macedonian sun.
