A Poem To Be Spoken Silently

It was so silent that l heard
the thoughts in my head 
like the curtains dancing in the wind.

It was so peaceful that I heard
the forest in my head.

It was so peaceful that I heard
the stars wink at me
from the night sky.

It was so silent that I heard
the wind blow a whisper
to its neighbour
“look he’s peering at us again”.

It was so still that I felt
a raindrop grin as it
drops onto the tin roof with its friends.

It was so calm that I sensed
a smile crack the face
of a person.
