A Point in Time

A pale blank portal
takes me back to the beginning,
to the very reason that I am here.
It reflects a myriad of mixed emotions
threatening to drag me in.
I would sink into this mess,
but you hold me back,
the lifeline reminding me
that I can do the very thing
that I fear the most.
