A strife for change

The sky is blue and the sun is yellow
To our wonderful world, we say hello
The grass is green, flowers are green
That was before the world buckled with greed
First came extinctions: reptiles, amphibians
The tiger in Tasmaina was nowhere to be found
But there was one trace on the ground
The West African Rhinoceros killed by poachers
I wish I could kill those roaches
Then came hazards earthquakes, tsunamis
Japan had the worst, like a kick in karate
The tectonic plates rubbing and clashing
That's why everything was falling and smashing
And as landfill piled with waste
Everyone knows we're trying to slow down the pace
Recycling is hard and everyone tries
But nobody applies...
But despite all the bad things, nature thrives in the nick of time
