A Tree’s Memory

I am lonely, stuck in place
I see the changes and the occasional face
I see new buildings and pollution
At what point would it come to a conclusion?
I give shelter and I give shade
The days now are earlier to fade
I see my shadow looming fast
I remember what happened in the past
I was a sapling and still growing roots
I watched cheerfully as the birds went
DOOT
But now all that is, is pollution
Welcome to the new world revolution.
