The brilliant sun rays shine through the translucent leaves

To a place that passes expectations with ease.

Fresh water from streams rushes down rocks and stones

With peaceful sounds like toppling bones.

Oak trees dance in the wind, so free and lively

Along with perched birds humming heavenly tones so precisely

Countless wildlife wearily trot through the gloomy wilderness, not making a sound

The juniper green forest so beautiful, the once settling oceans uncrowned

You gently lay on the soft, luscious grass and whiff the aroma of nostalgic pure air

Thinking of how this great peace and quiet could be so natural and bare

But in the distance you start to make out churning, cutting, sawing

The sound begins to grow, bears growling, crows cawing

Ringing, static noises occur in your ears, your surroundings rapidly cave in

                                                   YOU WAKE UP

You look around; everything is pallid, lost, broken

Constant natural disasters, lack of food, submerged infrastructure, abandoned—homes forever open

You soon lay back on the decayed metal and take yourself to sleep, imagining a quiet and beautiful place, not looking out or taking a peep
