Modest, innocent box,
With a simple, innocent mirror.
Shame that it only views outer layers.

Her gaze scorches the mirror’s reflection.
What a lie she sees!
An illusion of true herself.

Oh, the mirror,
A deceiving object.
Showing a carefree, jubilant girl;
If only it knew what lay beneath.

Abolish the façade,
Then you’ll witness the truth,
Deleterious torment- misery.

Beyond the veil,
What the mirror espies,
Are scars that run drastically deep.
Scars not visible to the naked eye
Don’t you dare judge,
By merely the mirror’s perspective.
