The Snowy Mountains

Our home

Icy, wet, cold rivers winding through the mountains.

Burnt trees, leftover ash, muddy brown water,

Rain smashing the roof tops of houses.

Tree logs pushed down the river.

Chunks pulled from our beloved mountain.

The corroboree frogs drowning in their small burrows.

The other animals crushed by the land slides.

Our dam blocked from the logs, mud, rocks.

Leaving our mountain town Talbingo miserable, lost

And torn to shreds.

Animals that we know are soon to be forgotten.

People rushing to save what we have left.
