After the Rainfall

The final drop of rain falls
leisurely to the damp soil
drip drop
The trees sway from side to side
Still recovering from the storm
The glowing ball of fire rises
from behind the lime coloured trees,
Ready to start the day.
The flowers of the forest bend of visiting unhappiness like never before.

As the long river leads to wildlife
the animals hopes grow, fish swim further away
and begin to become out of sight
like the moon at sunset
The river was dancing to the beat
of the waterfall sprinkling its crystal-clear blue waters
on the soggy, drenched leaves.
Birds flutter above the trees hunting for
prey, others preparing for dusk.
The forest all quiet and back to normal. It's time to settle for night, after the rainfall.
