Alex, My Talismanic Dog

As far as I can see,
The dark, sparkling eyes looking dumbfounded at me,
I can feel the tingling sensation,
When the golden fur brushes against my admiration.
I can smell the pleasant shampoo amongst its aroma,
And the wagging tail tapping my leg every time.
I always liked that and felt cheerful when I was in his presence,
Even though I may have been feeling down.
He is truly a man's best friend,
As he lifts my shoulders every time.
The way he licks my face,
I love it so much I'll never forget.
His fur was as golden as the sun,
His eyes sparkled like the stars,
His body was as big as a bear
And he was as loyal as a dove.
But now that he is gone,
I miss him greatly and sigh for grief.
I will never forget him while always longing for him,
Gazing at the moonlight whenever I need him.
