Amphitrite

She came to me at evening
restless, lapping at my toes
Her curves a litany of blues
how marvellous She was!
She took my hand at nightfall
pouncing, pelicans swarming Her hair
salt gusts sing a requiem
for suns light long gone
by midnight She was roaring
writhing, feeding on earths pride
moonlight licks a face
sick, taunt with hunger
She left before the morning
swift, leaving pebbles by my feet
and on our bed of shipwrecks
i will eat alone
