Giant Dragonflies zoomed just above the shimmering surface of the water as the wings fluttered in time with my beating heart. The scent of sweet Phantom Wattle flowers drift into the cool atmosphere as my eyelids slowly flutter. Bright stars shimmer like diamonds in the beautiful night sky as the shadow of a Sugar Glider glides across the shining moon and the sparkling stars. I slump down into the comfy outdoor couch and start to drift of to sleep, dreaming. The next morning, the sun is shining with all it’s might and I know that it’s going to be another beautiful day. A Mount Kaputar Slug slithers silently across a mouldy log resting on the bank beneath the frond of a cabbage tree palm. The wind whistles through it’s even leaves as the sky releases a flock of kookaburras and cockatoos, flying effortlessly through the blanket of puffy clouds. My chest starts to beat in rhythm to their elegant wingbeats as an eagle flies overhead. Syrupy yanderra makes the air a mixture of sweet snd crispy. A young Southern Brown Bandicoot scuttles quietly across the mess of dried leaves and snapped twigs as a jacaranda tree rains a million flowers down on it’s brown and white fur. I stare in absolute wonder at the ever-stretching landscape before my eyes and realise how lucky I am.
