Polluted air rustling through the brown leaves of an ancient tree
That tree stood there for centuries only to be dying now
The hot sun beating down on the canopy of leaves
Dry, crisp, dead, left there just to be stepped on
Shelter and refuge for animals that we now call 'threatened'
When really it's us destroying their habitats
Plastic wrappers covering the floor, almost as if it's our new grass
Insects that used to burrow in the bark, now fleeing for their lives
There is no such thing as biodiversity
As we let more and more animals die
The clouds that used to be white and fluffy
Are now all grey and polluted
The grass that used to be green and moist
Is now brown and dry
We need a sustainable future
And we need a greener environment
