Another Grain of Sand

Higher than any human reach
is a blanket.
Bluer than any ocean,
brighter than my mother’s eyes.
Under my feet
lies old and soft
sand. A magical part
of nature’s
warm embrace
that heals the weary.
Wait until morning,
for a dolphin will come,
flying across its cloud kingdom.
Nothing in this world
could stop
the spread
of its wings.
The only things on this land
are the beach
and me.
