The heat of the sun on a new day,
Shining over the world
As the birds herald a new day.
The rays even penetrate the underworld.
Over on the top of a hill you see the sun’s first ray.
The fire of the sun lighting the world,
The birds are back to heralding day
As the armies of people start work in the world.
Out in the bay you see the stingray
Swimming in the water world
And in comes the shark to rest by the quay
All teeth and jaws without a care in the world.
Over in the caring it is nearing midnight and the moon shines as bright as day
The animals have come to dance in the otherworldly light
The birds swoop over the bay
As against the sun heralds a new day.
Then disaster strikes a fire caused by the sun at midday
The trees turn to torches in the netherworld
The fire burns for five long days
Burning all in its path.
Then days later the stench of smoke in the air
The animals return to the world
To mourn the dead on this sorrowful day.
The rain then quenches the last of the fiery world.
Then plants begin to grow on that sixth day.
The birds are back, with the insects and bees
The trees all blackened on that day.
The life begins to return to the black world.
