Australian Bushfires

The black caliginous smoke smothers the gloomy sky, the fiery wave, cold flame consuming all in its path, trapped animals screaming for the help that will never befall
Death has blown away the candle to life
Extinguishing the flame of expectation, no spark left, only the black desolation
And spark of the murderous fire, no mercy, no hope, no remorse
Trees devoured by the infernal flame, crumbling to ash, piling onto the earth
Hollowed out, stripped of its beauty, blackened, deprived of its dignity
Animals run, grasping for their lives, burning up, slowly flaking away
The doorway of their eyes close, the spark of thought blows away
They live, they live for the sake of living, they run in hope of survival
The vindictive flame feeds, hope had been smouldered long ago
We fight back to stop what has already been taken, the fire has withdrawn its fiery embrace
Leaving behind its carnage and destruction, what was once life, what was once beautiful
Had been taken from all that cared, destroyed, leaving a crumbled disarray
A black blanket hovers over the ground, with a lack of morality
To leave the accumulation of ash, the dead, burnt trees lay
The dismal, burnt animals die, leaving a speck of green we call, hope
