Before Us

The wind rustled the leaves in the trees
Forrests were where you could relax
Animals could play and rest without the thought of destroyed habitat
Yes, once it was safe.
Butterflies flew and birds sang as a choir
Toads slept on lilly pads without fear
No one had to worry
This was before's galore.
Leaves drifted down to the canopy's floor
Animals wandered around freely
Frogs hopped from tree to tree
It was a perfect time of life until...
All of a sudden, thumps came from up ahead
An earsplitting sound echoed through the trees
Stampeding animals ran in fear.
Was it safe anymore?
Trees screamed as they fell to the ground
Twigs snapped and leaves rushed to the forest floor
Everyone fled running through the wreckage
Could this place still be called a forest?
