Bird Nest Earrings

With an egg like a baby going to hatch
birds’ nest is as gold as a medal at the Olympics,
Like the ocean in Hawaii the egg is a blue-greenish colour,
The nest is like the earth going round and round,
The egg is as smooth as a baby’s bottom,
My grandpa giving them to me,
Perched on my ears like the nest being in a tree,
The nest is like my grandpa big and strong,
Supporting the new life coming,
The mother bird humming,
Ready for the winter,
Preparing the dinner for the new birth,
The wire spinning in the sun,
The egg glowing in the dark.
