My black belt is the image of my journey,
Every memory, from start to finish are represented by it,
Of my struggles and pains that compel me to stop,
But the desire and passion is always greater,
The desire, it is immense,
To continue the journey,
Finish what has been started,
And the closer the goal gets,
The desire only grows.
The journey is long, but it is only the tip,
For the iceberg is larger and greater beneath,
What I thought was the end, is only the beginning.
And the path never gets easier.
For the grass may be greener on the other side,
But to reap great rewards,
You must first sow the right seeds.
Every black belt, wears their belt with pride, Because it represents so much to them;
The life long bonds they make and the family they entered,
Where no matter who you are,
You are a black belt.
