Underneath the cherry blossom tree it comes to rest with me

I sit under its bright pink flowers

But now a big silver truck devours it

It always gets chopped down

And it always gives me a frown

I beg with it to flee

But it dies right in front of me

Now the chilling breeze

Makes my body freeze

I plant a young cherry blossom seed

And I see it grow into a gorgeous, graceful tree

With everything around it under construction

all it sees is constant destruction

The most beautiful tree

In the ever-expanding city

Soon I will find a field of cherry blossom trees

And everything will be perfect for me

One day I will grow old

And all the branches will be bold

And then it will come to rest with me.
