Pygmy Possum scuttles all around,
searching for scrumptious Bogong moths to feast on from the ground.
Preparing for hibernation where they curl up in a ball,
falling into a deep sleep tucked up snug and warm against the burrow wall.

The dingo prowls past hunting for some lunch
because he had missed yesterdays brunch.
Pygmy Possum is safe and sound now in a deep sleep,
so Mr dingo will have to find something else to eat.

Off he wanders to sit and ponder
in the warm rays of the sun
shining down on his glossy coat.
Sparkling like a golden rope.
