Our Home

Is burning

But you can't smell the smoke

You are holding your breath, but you

You don't know how lucky you are

To have the option to breathe.

Our Earth is pleading

but all you can hear

is the clink of the gold in your hands.

Our Globe is reaching extremes, but you can't feel it -

You have no empathy.

Our World is crumbling

But you can't see

All you can see is the oil and gas cheque

On your polished mahogony desk

You can't taste the change in the fruits

Can't know the planet cracking under your boots

If you can't do all of these things

Ask yourself

Why can we?
