Burnt, Charred Forest

The trees of the trunks are charred and black.
Out of the soil, something green shoots out.
A bunch of crisp, burnt, leaves, all in a stack.
Goodness, that green was a brand-new sprout!
Some fire-scarred trees have fallen down,
They lay there helplessly, dead on the ground.
Trees can’t escape flames, they’ve no legs to run.
When bushfires happen, it’s really no fun.
