Burnt Tree

From a distance… I heard the burnt leaves falling to the ground. Kookaburra tweeting high in the blazing gum tree.
Close up… I can feel the soft surface like feathers. You can smell the burnt eucalyptus leaves blowing away in the wind. The bark falls off when you rest your hand on the charcoal tree.
Above me… I can see the high burnt branches swaying in the gentle, fresh breeze. The branches sway like the Australian flag blowing in the wind.
Below me… I can feel the soft black ash on my feet. The ground feels like soft merino wool.
