A million billion thousand years have passed

Since the last time I opened my weary eyes

And now the clouds move abnormally fast

And around me I see blue-green-black skies.

Every breath and gasp I heavily take

Rattles the canyons between my old bones

The hollow, shallow parts inside me ache

Skeletons too fossilised by the stones

I would cradle the saplings outspoken

My hands would make big castles in the sand

All I feel now: the promises broken

And all I am now are bones in the land

I used to watch all the wildflowers age

But now the same wildflowers keep me caged
